ABOUT LUSTR
The LUSTR festival was started in 2014 by Nadia Sheshuková and František Kast from PageFive. The first edition was held in the Microna Gallery and became the first illustration festival in the Czech Republic. The 2015 and 2016 editions took place in a four-storey house in Cihelná Street. In 2015, 1100 visitors saw the exhibition – in 2016, it was 1800.
The first three editions of LUSTR were held under the auspices of the Letná bookseller PageFive. This 4th edition is organised by Czech illustrators in association with PageFive, who received the Shop of the Year prize at the Czech Grand Design 2016 competition, for this event and other exhibition activities. This edition is also organised in collaboration with the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University, which provided the festival with its spaces in Hybernská 4. The festival is administered by Věra Mezuláníková, Nadia Sheshuková, Ilona Polanská and František Kast.
ABOUT CZECH ILLUSTRATORS
Czech illustrators is a not-for-profit association which maps the current state of Czech and Slovak illustration. It began with documentary interviews you can read online and has now expanded to include organisation of the LUSTR festival with PageFive, providing information about events and opportunities for illustrators on social media and recommending illustrators to magazines, studios and agencies. The association is composed of Ilona Polanská, Věra Mezuláníková and Nadia Sheshuková.
